After so many months, I have finally chanced upon a spot in the backyard which encourages the growth of red leaves on my thai basil. Looks like sun is a big factor in retaining the redness of the leaves.

June 27, 2009 - Whilst the leaves do show signs of redness in preparation for flowering, most of the time, the leaves are green. Still haven't figured out how to maintain the rich burgundy colour.

December 6, 2008 - There were about 4 or 5 stalks in a pot which I then separated.
December 6, 2008 - This red thai basil was bought precisely because it is red and beautifies the garden with its dark burgundy. But the redness soon faded.
